Nature Reserves
In order to assist with the safeguarding but also the discovery of its wealth of flora and fauna, the Park is made up of 7 Réserves naturelles (nature reserves) which are part of a federation:

Eyne Nature reserve
Go hiking along one of the many footpaths running through this magnificent valley, well-known since the 17th century for the wealth and diversity of its flora. At Eyne, the Maison de vallée tourist office can help you to organise visits to exhibitions, the botanical garden, accompanied hikes and many other activities to help you discover the natural and archeological heritage of the reserve.

Jujols Nature Reserve
In the Coronat foothills, you can enjoy the diversity of a Mediterranean mountain. You can also see numerous signs of pastoral activity which is still alive and well today. To guide you in your explorations, the Maison de la Réserve can provide guides, audio trails and touch trails for the visually impaired. There is also a display and documentation on the reserve.

Mantet Nature Reserve
After you’ve crossed the imposing Mantet Pass (1710m), explore this reserve, which encircles almost the entire village. You will discover a wild mountain territory which is conducive to relaxation.
In summer, the Maison de la nature welcomes you and can provide information through exhibitions, documentation and themed excursions.

Nohèdes Nature Reserve
Located at the end of the deep vallée de Nohèdes, this reserve provides you with opportunities to discover very diverse fauna and flora between high ocean influences and Mediterranean influences that reign over most of the valley. The Maison de la réserve looks forward to welcoming you and can provide a booklet of “itineraries of discovery”, as well as putting on an exhibition during the summer.

Nyer Nature Reserve
Nestling in a deep valley, the Nyer Regional Nature Reserve, governed by the General Council of the Eastern Pyrenees, is rich in fauna and flora which, due to its high altitude, remains unspoiled. The Maison de la Réserve is hosting a free, fun and interactive exhibition, Un Monde renversant (An Astonishing World), where you can learn about the life of bats. There are also themed excursions for children and adults, with disabled access.

Py Nature Reserve
At the heart of the Rotja valley, routes through the Réserve naturelle de Py allow visitors to discover the magnificence of the Canigou massif. A booklet about the Esplanes trail, as well as outings and stays through which to explore the reserve, and an exhibition about the forest (in the summer) are available to help you understand the reserve.
