Mont Louis Soler Furnace
The brainchild of Professor Trombe in 1949, the first solar furnace in the world is the ideal place to learn about the workings of this invention, the temperature of which ranges from 2000 to 3500°C, thanks to exciting scientific activities which are accessible to all. Ceramics, bronze works and jewellery are made and sold at the site.

Odeillo solar furnace
The Grand Four Solaire d’Odeillo is one of the two largest solar furnaces in the world. It is a research centre for the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and part of a global network of laboratories. In particular, work at the furnace concentrates on the production of solar-powered electricity and reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing and recycling processes.

Themis solar plant
The Thémis solar power plant, in the town of Targasonne, has two exhibitions on the theme of energy. Professionals explain electrical phenomena, principles of physics and reliable techniques used to harness the main sources of renewable energy to visitors.
